A Preschool Day at Creative Corner

We will begin each class with self-led exploration time where students can participate in any of the centers listed below. We start with exploration time to help them feel comfortable and excited once they arrive and to get their brains in motion for the school day.  After all, play is learning!

• art center
• dramatic play
• reading center
• writing center
• science center
• sensory table
• building/puzzles center

After exploration time we will have whole group read aloud, calendar, and question of the day. Upon arrival students will find or write their name to answer a three-choice-answer question. During calendar we will ask our question again, count together to see how many students chose each answer, and compare the numbers (which answer was bigger/smaller, more/less etc)

Following calendar will be math and literacy instruction followed by a hands-on coordinating activity. 

Small group or individual student time will be held to solidify concepts and extend or support learning where needed. Music and movement and learning and practicing important skills such as social, emotional, listening and communication will be incorporated throughout all activities!

Then we will have snack time! Students will practice manners, help prepare and serve food to students at their table, and clean up after themselves.

Weather permitting, we will be outside every day to run,  develop stronger gross motor skills such as kicking a ball, and to PLAY!
